INITIATIVE
- This means initiating a process for someone else to complete, and for the enrichment of both. For this reason one must "initiate" - enter the relationship - according to the law of supply and demand. It is up to each individual to start to move, as that is also a way of taking responsibility for oneself and bringing about a change, which is always a personal event and not the affair of others. Very often there is no initiative because there is no accountability*, that is to say we don't feel involved in what is happening to us and therefore we wait for initiatives and solutions from the outside (e.g. a school reform from the government), when we should actually think in terms of personal development (see La dignità dell'insegnante, by A. Foletto).
